The Lleida Tango Association is the result of the union of different dancers and tango enthusiasts who want to share this art. Our goal is to create an inclusive space to practice and grow in this art. We are a diverse community where dancers of all levels merge in embraces, where we want all tango lovers to find a place to enjoy and learn together.
The creation of this association was born from the deep desire to consolidate and strengthen the tango community in Lleida. We aspire to provide an open, accessible and safe space where tango lovers can meet to practice and enjoy this passion. By organizing workshops, events, and workshops, we seek not only to enrich the learning of this art, but also to promote its dissemination and integration into the cultural life of our city. We do all of this from a collaborative, inclusive and non-profit approach, ensuring that tango is accessible to the entire community.
Our story begins in 2016, when a group of tango enthusiasts in Lleida met for the first time to practice and learn together. These first activities took place at Pub 1800, marking the beginning of an adventure that over time has transformed into a vibrant and diverse community. After the closure of Pub 1800, the group moved to Casa de Aragón, and later found its home in the Sala Municipal de los Bucs de la Bordeta. In this space, the group has been growing, integrating new generations of dancers and students from different schools, all united by the shared passion for tango.
Currently, we combine our weekly practices at the Bucs de la Bordeta with monthly classes at the Cappont Neighborhood Association. In 2024, we took the decisive step of becoming an association. This change represents our desire to further strengthen our community, providing new opportunities to learn, share, promote and enjoy tango. As an association, we seek not only to keep this tradition alive, but also to fully integrate it into the cultural life of Lleida, ensuring that this passion reaches all those who wish to discover and experience it.
